Nothing more can illustrate God's Love for nature, animals, birds and human kind as this incident that I was lucky to witness yesterday (Monday 17 December, 2012 - 7:30am) @ our beloved Satguru Ji's abode - Sri Bhaini Sahib.
The whole Namdhari community collectively has been bereaved over the past week after the passing away of our Lord, Guru, Satguru, Father, Friend and Guide - His Holiness Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji. The grief compounded by the fact that He was much more than the few adjectives that a dictionary can state. He was the heart beat of millions of us and His benevolent deeds will form a part of our daily life till the last breath.
As the days go by and we come in touch with more and more people whose lives He touched and the enormity of life continues to dawn upon us, we find stories upon stories, incidents upon incidents being recounted. Blessed are the souls those were touched and are able to articulate and express to others their experiences and their stories.
But what about those who can't speak the human language. How do they express their Love and tell their story. Well this is their story.
It was 7:30 in the morning, the chill in the air as cold as a winter morning can get here in Sri Bhaini Sahib, Ludhiana, I arrived in Satguru Ji's room hoping that this was all a dream and that I would be woken up and catch a glimpse of His Blessed Self. I was greeted by the sounds of Gurbani being read and the divine and holistic presence of His Holiness's spiritual self. I paid my obeiance and sat down to meditate and try and concentrate. The divine words from the Gurbani continued to punctuate the otherwise silent environment of the room. As minutes passed by and the rosary in the hand assumed a nonchalant rhythm, my mind began to wander again, incidents floated in and out as I remembered the time spent here in His Holiness presence and I wondered how can a person be loved so much or rather how can someone give so much Love that He gets it back a million fold. My thoughts were broken by someone knocking gently on the glass doors a few feet away right in front of me.
What I saw amazed me. It was not just someone knocking, it was a peahen knocking with her beak. As I looked in amazement, she knocked once, twice... then she looked around, craned her neck up and looked through the glass as if searching for somebody. She was joined by another peahen and then... she did the same, knock... knock... and then... she also looked around, craned her neck up and looked through the glass as if searching for somebody. A few moments later and few more looks through the glass and they both walked away with their heads down.
I Long for you My Lord, My Satguru, I miss Your physical presence and I Love You Immensely - Dhan Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji
